Tips For A Healthy Vacation This Spring Break

It's almost vacation season, which means breaking out of your daily grind to let loose and enjoy life even just for a few days. If your schedule is filled with meal prepping, gym sessions and avoiding anything that might pull you off track, vacations can be a slippery slope. Balance is the key to a successful life and achieving balance when it comes to health and well-being is equally essential. Here are some tips to help you enjoy your time away from the barbells and steamed veggies. This advice also gives you a fighting chance when you return home from paradise and attempt to get back on schedule.

1. Snacking - Vacations are supposed to be worry-free and indulgent. Snacking and consuming more food than usual always come along with any vacation. Careful though, this can be fun but won't serve you well when you return home. The secret is to avoid overindulging. Yes, have the dessert at dinner, however, don't have two servings. Try to make most meals well-rounded and then allow yourself one meal each day that you know isn't exactly healthy.

2. Workouts - While you can't expect to have a full gym readily available on your vacay, most hotels and resorts have a fitness center. If you are an extra adventurous individual, plan excursions that will get your heart rate up and make you sweat. Go for a jog along the beach each morning. Do what you can but just make sure you do something!

3. Alcohol - The most common pitfall of any vacation is alcohol. If you want to be kind to your body, make sure you drink more water than alcohol. This is a good rule of thumb. Drinking in excess is obviously not going to be conducive to your morning beach runs, however, keep in mind, balance! If you are going to drink, try and steer clear of the high-calorie drinks like pina coladas. Try a vodka soda or white wine instead.

If you are heading out of town for a while, do not forget to bring your favorite supplements along. Stock up on your protein, emerge, and whatever else you use to keep your body running on all cylinders. We have got you covered here at Max Muscle Rocky Mountain. Stop by your nearest location today.
